The Magnolia Reservoir and Booster Pumping Station near Magnolia Park and the Magnolia Park Family Resource Center, located at 11402 Magnolia Street, are scheduled for rehabilitation from Monday August 16, 2021 until February 2022. Park visitors are advised that the tennis courts and the north-side parking lot on Magnolia Street and Joyzelle promenade will be closed during the rehabilitation project. Temporary site fencing will be installed. Other park facilities and the parking lot on the south side on Magnolia Street and Orangewood Avenue will be available.
The project includes the rehabilitation of an underground prestressed concrete tank and a pressure booster pumping station. The rehabilitation of the reservoir includes various repairs, the construction of a seismic curb, waterproofing the roof and the addition of a fall protection system. Site specific improvements include pipe rerouting; replacement of sump hatch and cover, meter vault and piping; repair of the overflow flap door; construction of a new parking lot and ramp; and the installation of posts and a mowing strip around the tank. The rehabilitation of the booster pump station includes the refurbishment of the existing flow control valve and the replacement of the engine, booster pump, exhaust system, catalytic converter, butterfly valves, check valve anti-return, existing roof and skylight.
The $ 3,204,880 project was awarded by Garden Grove City Council on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 to Pacific Hydrotech Corporation. The project is funded by the Water Enterprise Fund.
