Melbourne City Football Club will play their FFA Cup quarter-final against Wellington Phoenix at Casey Fields on Wednesday 22 December.
The game will be the first competitive game City’s senior men’s team have played in the Greater South East of Melbourne and comes almost a year to the day since the club announced it was relocating its training seat and directors at Casey Fields.
The game will take place at the Casey Fields Main Oval, where the Melbourne Demons play AFLW and AFL preseason games and where the Melbourne Storm hosted an NRL preseason game in 2020.

The FFA Cup is a national men’s knockout competition, bringing together professional and grassroots clubs across the country.
Patrick Kisnorbo’s side advanced to the last eight, beating South Melbourne in the round of 16 and Hume City in the round of 16.
Wellington advanced to the quarter-finals with a 4-1 victory over home Victorian team Avondale on Tuesday, December 14.
The City of Melbourne’s move to Casey Fields is part of a 30-year partnership between the club and the City of Casey and its wider engagement in the South East Melbourne region via an agreement with the City of Grand Dandenong.
Construction of the club’s new training and administration facilities at the Regional Football Center of Excellence began in mid-2021 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
