China, Cambodia promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields

China and Cambodia have agreed to sign new action plans to promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields, based on the implementation of the 2019-2023 Action Plan on Building a Community of Sino-Cambodian destiny, said a joint statement issued on Friday.

Giving full play to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA), the two countries will carry out trade promotion activities, aiming to promote more quality Cambodian products to enter the market. Chinese.

China will further increase the import of Cambodian agricultural products and offer intellectual, financial and technical support to Cambodia to develop modern agriculture.

The statement said China will strengthen cooperation in science, education, culture, health and tourism with Cambodia, support Cambodia in implementing Chinese language teaching to to promote collaboration on the digital transformation of education.

Cambodia actively supports and participates in the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative proposed by China, and will commit to implementing the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and work with the China to join global security governance, aiming to achieve common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security.

By emphasizing the upholding of genuine multilateralism, both sides will promote democracy in international relations and uphold its principles as well as global justice and fairness.

The two countries will conduct exchanges and cooperation on human rights issues on the basis of equality and mutual respect, and oppose the politicization of human rights issues.

The two sides will strengthen coordination and cooperation in multilateral frameworks such as Lancang-Mekong Cooperation and China-ASEAN Economic Cooperation, so as to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the Association of South Asian Nations. Southeast (ASEAN).
