As Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson awaits his NFL punishment, he’s making sure to stay fit in hopes of playing at some point in the 2022 season.
The newly acquired flagman, who continues to be in the midst of legal troubles stemming from sexual misconduct allegations, was seen in Austin, Texas on Friday training with fellow NFL quarterbacks Justin Fields and Malik Willis . Heisman favorite CJ Stroud of Ohio State was also in attendance.

Deshaun Watson was acquired by the Browns this offseason in a blockbuster deal from the Houston Texans, eventually signing a guaranteed deal worth $230 million.
However, there are serious doubts that he will fit even in 22′. Although Watson has reached agreements with 20 of his 24 accusers, the league has yet to announce how long he will be reprimanded. Cleveland will surely also be affected as they just traded Baker Mayfield for the Carolina Panthers and currently have limited options in their QB room behind Watson. As it stands, Jacoby Brissett is the backup, who played for the Patriots, Colts and Dolphins during his career.
Deshaun Watson will undoubtedly be the difference maker for the Browns. But, his off-pitch troubles will definitely affect his availability. Watson hasn’t played at all in 2021 after making it clear he wants to leave Houston. He finally got his wish. On a more positive note, it’s good to see the quarterback doing that job ahead of the next campaign. Let’s just hope he doesn’t miss all 17 games.
Only time will tell.
