Egypt wants to strengthen ties with Uganda in various fields: President Sissi – Defense – Egypt

Egyptian Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki attended the meeting between President El-Sisi and Museveni in Cairo.

El-Sisi asked Museveni to convey his greetings to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and underlined the great potential for cooperation enjoyed by Cairo, Kampala and other Nile Basin countries, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The President welcomed the military cooperation between the two countries, especially with regard to Ugandan participation in training courses organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Defence.

For his part, Museveni conveyed Ugandan President’s greetings to El-Sisi and hailed the deep historical ties between the two countries in all fields, especially military.

Lieutenant General Museveni is the Ground Forces Commander of the Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF).

On Saturday, Egyptian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Osama Askar in Egypt held a meeting with Museveni in Cairo where they discussed mutual military cooperation between the two countries.
