Free program allows Salmon Arm students to train on tennis courts
Askew’s Ace program will provide lessons and equipment for grades 3 to 5 students
Salmon Arm students have the opportunity to try tennis.
Starting in October, Grades 3, 4 and 5 will take to the courts of the Salmon Arm Tennis Club at the Askew Tennis Center.
Coach Mary Manley said the Askew’s Aces program is a joint effort between the Columbia Shuswap Healthy Schools program, Askew’s and JumpStart, the charity of Canadian Tire. Students will receive weekly instruction from local instructors certified by Tennis Canada.
Throughout the month of October, students will participate in exciting activities that introduce them to tennis and also receive their own brand new tennis rackets, balls and t-shirts.
The program will be part of the students’ school days, and bus trips to and from the tennis center will be provided.
