WADENA — Nora Bolton’s three-set victory in singles No. 4 gave the Park Rapids women’s tennis team a 4-3 victory over Wadena-Deer Creek in a battle between the Mid-State Conference rivals and of Section 8A on Tuesday, September 6.
Bolton prevailed 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 over fourth-placed Charlie Snyder in the singles for the deciding point. The Panthers won two more singles matches in straight sets as Morgan Koppelman beat Libby Hartman 6-1, 6-3 to No. 1 in singles and Shailyn Hayes beat Kaylee Endres 6-4, 7-6 (7- 3) at No. 2. single. The No. 3 doubles team of Rachel Ulvin and Kate Dravis cruised to a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) victory over Chloe Leeseberg and Claire Kapphahn as Park Rapids improved to 1-3 in conference games and 4-5 overall.
Wolverines, who fell 5-5 this season, won the other three games in straight sets.
