Green Knoll and Colonial Park tennis courts to reopen

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ – The Somerset County Park Commission will open the tennis courts at Green Knoll Tennis Center and Colonial Park for personal, league and instructional use for the 2021 season from March 27 through October 22.

Green Knoll, at 587 Garretson Road in Bridgewater, has a total of 10 tennis courts and Colonial Park, on Colonial Drive in Franklin, has eight courts, two of which are striped for pickleball. In total, there are four Colonial Drive pickleball courts for walk-in and tournament play. All facilities are weatherproof outdoor courts and are lighted for evening and nighttime play.

Green Knoll courts will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Colonial Park courts will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Tennis courts at Green Knoll Tennis Center and Colonial Park can be reserved by calling the attendant at 908-722-1200 ext. 5021 during game hours.

Fees are $8 per hour weekdays until 5 p.m. and $10 weekdays after 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Courts will be available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis weekdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from March 27 to June 23 and September 7 to October 22.

United States Tennis Association (USTA) and Pickleball League application forms can be obtained online at somersetcountyparks.org/activities/tennis/tennis.html or by calling the Green Knoll Tennis Center at 908 -722-1200 ext. 5021. League registrations are $50 and standard court fees are due at time of play.

All players and spectators will be required to adhere to all applicable restrictions and limitations imposed by executive and other orders and USTA COVID-19 precautions, including social distancing and spectator masks.
