The Spring 2022 Awards Ceremony was held at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun on Wednesday to commend the cadets who will be leaving the academy this month for their excellence in various fields during the period of training.

The passing out parade for the 150th Regular Course and the 133rd Higher Technical Course is scheduled for June 11, when 288 Indian cadets and 89 foreign cadets from eight countries will be commissioned.

Addressing the cadets, IMA Commander Lt Gen Harinder Singh said the battlefield today has extended beyond the front line, the operational spectrum has become complex and the opponent does not follow the rules. Conflicts today are multi-dimensional with the fusion of contact and non-contact, network, information and cyber warfare waged by state as well as non-state actors.

He said the future will require soldiers not only to have a thorough understanding of the nature of modern warfare, but also to be fit and trained to operate in the climate of a complex battlefield environment.

Stating that military leaders must rely on combat drills and quick decision-making to outwit and outclass the enemy, he stressed that leadership therefore remains a key determinant of victory and that young warrior leaders must to endear to their soldiers and inspire them to be selfless and courageous. conduct.

He also presented trophies, medals and banners to the best students in academics, sports, service and various other competitions. The Commander’s Banner for the battalion ranked first overall in the Inter-Battalion Championship was won by Manekshaw Battalion, while the Kumaon Trophy for the company ranked first overall in the Inter-Company Championship was won by Sangro Company. .
