Over the next season, McDade Park in Scranton, Merli-Sarnoski Park in Greenfield Township, Covington Park in Covington Township, and Aylesworth Park in Jermyn will be open to the general public Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. until dusk, when the parks close.
People will be able to walk, hike, jog, cycle and fish. The toilets will be open and sports activities will be allowed. All safety protocols must be followed, as the coronavirus pandemic is still ongoing.
Any individuals or families renting the space should follow Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s mitigation practices for social distancing and other virus safety protocols with respect to group gatherings.
McDade Park Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour will remain closed until further notice.
Commissioners urge all who use the facilities to have fun and to remember to be safety conscious at all times.
