PHOENIX – For the first time in five months, the Phoenix Parks athletic fields will be available for reservation starting Thursday.
City council last week approved the reopening reservable fields, which were closed on April 2 to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Participants, coaches, officials and spectators must follow health safety protocols at the venues.
Spectators, officials and coaches must wear face masks, spectators must stay at least 6 feet from the courts, and no more than 48 youth or 24 adults may participate on a field at a time.
Groups reserving the grounds will be responsible for enforcing compliance, but city parks and recreation staff will also monitor activity.
Reservations for sports grounds can be made at Parks and Recreation website.
The toilets near the fields will also reopen, but the following park amenities will remain closed:
- Toilets in parks without reservable fields.
- Playgrounds.
- Basketball and volleyball courts.
- Fitness equipment.
- Ramadas and picnic tables.
- Splashpads.
- Encanto and Rose Mofford Sports Complexes.
