* Amir and the Uruguayan president talk
His Highness Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, Dr Luis Lacalle Pou, held a formal meeting on Monday at Admiri Diwan.
They discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen and develop them, especially in the diplomatic, educational and sports fields. They also discussed issues of common interest.
The Emir and the Uruguayan president attended the signing of an agreement and several memoranda of understanding (MoU) between the two countries.
The two sides witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the fields of youth and sports, and of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of education, and an agreement on mutual exemption from entry visas for holders of diplomatic, private, official, regular and mission passports. , as well as a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of diplomatic training between the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Artigas Foreign Service Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay.
The session and the signing ceremony were attended by a number of ministers.
On the Uruguayan side, it brought together several members of the official delegation.
The Emir hosted a bench lunch in honor of the President and his accompanying delegation.
