Are you looking for a way to make a positive difference in the community and study something you are passionate about? Then, study with GOTAFE at its newly redeveloped Seymour Campus.

The contemporary campus will train the next generation of health and nursing professionals and early childhood educators and offer students the opportunity to do pre-apprenticeships or study the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) – a practical and practical alternative qualification to the VCE.

GOTAFE offers 37 free TAFE courses, including the Nursing Diploma (HLT54115), to help prepare students for jobs that are in demand across Victoria.

For GOTAFE student Haley Currie, nursing has always been something she’s been interested in.

“The main factor in doing something about it was that Free TAFE was offered,” she said.

GOTAFE students benefit from hands-on training with experienced trainers.

“It’s the kind of stuff you can’t learn from a book,” Haley said.

“They just help you understand it from a compassionate perspective.”

Students learn professional skills to prepare them for success in the workplace.

“I feel like the TAFE course prepares you really well,” Haley said.

“When you go on an internship, it kind of gives you the confidence to do things because you’ve already practiced it at TAFE.”

Haley is one of the coaches at Seymour Football Netball Club. His role is to provide first aid, injury management, rehabilitation, massage, and the use of straps and tapes to help players recover.

“I think doing this job gave me the confidence to try the course because I knew I could handle a crisis and handle injuries,” she said.

The modern facilities at the Seymour campus will benefit hundreds of local students and foster greater collaboration between GOTAFE, community and industry.

With real-world health and nursing equipment, students will graduate with in-demand skills and pathways to meaningful work, which will help address skills shortages in the region.

Deciding what you are going to do with your future is a big decision and part of that choice involves researching and weighing your options. At GOTAFE, professional training courses can help put you on the path to where you want to be.

When you decide to take control of your future and make the new you, choose GOTAFE to help you get there.

As of January 1, 2019, Free TAFE covers the tuition fees for priority courses for students eligible for state-subsidized training.
