PARK District X’s title hopes took a hit after a complete 22-10 loss to Colliton X.
Park could only field two players and despite John Ryan’s maximum for the loss of a leg, this disadvantage was too difficult to compensate.
Andy Crouch with seven, Raj Lehal and Mick Hogan both scoring six, all beat Luis Ventura to secure the victory.
Elsewhere, Budmouth B proved too strong for Dorchester YMCA, with Robin Prince smashing his way to the max, ably supported by the return of Neil Hardisty with eight and Jed Brackenridge six.
Steve White and Ken Brake won for the YMCA and White teamed up with Andy Webb to take the closing double, but it was too little too late. Budmouth One beat
Preston B in a high quality match.
The match of the night was between the wily Roger Lovell and the promising Josh Clark.
Clark won the first two sets and led 10-9 in the third, but the experienced Lovell pushed his way through and tied the game at 2-2.
Clark then ended up 7-2 in the deciding game, but never lost another point to secure a narrow victory.
Current Division 1 champions Springfield A defeated a Park District A team in a bid to claim their crown in an entertaining 21-15 victory. Jeff Rigby, with nine, won his three games for the winners while Tim Scott, with eight, and Michelle Leonard supported well. Luke Hunt scored the best for Park with six.
After Preston A agreed to advance their match against Shipton Gorge B to prevent Shipton from suffering an unprecedented third week, Gorge earned a 30-6 victory.
Wyke A remains undefeated after his 27-9 victory at Colliton C, winning his first eight games before Katherine Bundy, with four, scored Colliton’s only win of the night, over Ian South who won six.
In a rare draw, All Saints A and Springfield B shared the loot 21-21. It was a very close game between a young and future All Saints side and last season’s Division 2 runner-up, a prime example being Paul Manvell’s 19-17 second leg win to defeat Ollie James 3-1.
Springfield needed two doubles points to secure the win, but Jess Moggeridge and Ethan Clark’s pair, scoring eight and five respectively, produced a 3-1 triumph to secure a draw.
Wyke B inflicted a heavy 30-2 loss on Park District Y, who continues to seek their first success of the season.
William Roper scored Park’s two points with Rod Wyness, David Wyatt and Paul Robson-Rowell all scoring highs for Wyke, with Wyness being particularly ruthless.
The derby match between the boys from Budmouth D and the girls from Budmouth E lived up to all expectations in an exciting and close competition.
The Budmouth girls got off to a good start as Sophie Storey, with seven, fought back after losing the first leg to Liam Critchard, with four, to take the next.

George Ackerley, scoring nine, went on to claim the first of his three wins by beating Holly Calton, with six, in three stages but that only encouraged Calton
to greater heights as she beat Critchard with a few
superb strike then Ted
Paul, with three, the same way.
Paul and Ashleigh Browne, with three, picked up three
legs each to tie the score at 16-16.
Calton and Storey defeated Critchard and Paul in a fitting highlight of the night to see the girls at home with a 19-17 victory.
In the Preston derby, D came out on top 29-9 over E.
Martin Singer, with four, got the only victory over the
night for E, survivor of a fiery fight from Christine Roy, with eight, who had previously survived the same from Darren Smith.
