The EU continues to support Azerbaijani youth in the areas of education and employment, European Union Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko told a press conference dedicated to the European Days of the youth, Orientation reports.

According to him, the EU, in relation to this, launched a youth campaign in Azerbaijan.

“Several events have been organized for young people. The EU has declared 2022 the “Year of Youth” after two difficult years of the COVID-19 pandemic. The EU plans to create equal opportunities in education and employment for young people through the campaign,” he said. .

Michalko stressed that in the field of education in Azerbaijan record success has been achieved.

“During the pre-pandemic period, scholarships were granted to 3,500 Azerbaijani students under the Erasmus+ exchange programme. This year, the number has increased significantly. Last year, 500 educational institutions received loans under the loan scheme,” he said.

He also said that the program will be implemented not only in Baku, but also in the regions of Azerbaijan.

“More than 10,000 children and parents from the regions have been involved in the early childhood development awareness programme. In addition, 885 people from the regions received vocational training,” added Michalko.
