The Indian squad have completed their first half of pre-T20 World Cup 2022 training sessions in Perth. They lost the second practice match against WACA XI by 36 runs in Perth on October 13, 2022 and will now move to Brisbane where they will play two more warm-up matches.
Today India were led by KL Rahul in the second practice game although Rohit Sharma was named in the playing XI but did not come out at bat. Virat Kohli was also rested from this game.
India failed to reach the target of 169 runs set by WACA XI, despite KL Rahul scoring 74 from 55 balls, finishing at 132/8 from 20 overs. Previously, WACA XI had made 168/8 with D’Arcy Short and Nicholas Hobson making half centuries and R Ashwin taking 3/32.

In a viral video on social media, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were seen performing during WACA XI. While Rohit was named in the XI, Kohli was rested from this match.
In another video shared by ESPNCricinfo, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seen playing overhead shots during a practice session with Rohit Sharma playing his cover drive against a left-handed pitcher, preparing for Shaheen Afridi.

India will now face Australia in a warm-up match ahead of the 2022 T20 World Cup on October 17 in Brisbane and then face New Zealand on October 19 at the same venue.
