Westfield dominates Dunkirk on the tennis courts | News, Sports, Jobs


WESTFIELD — The Westfield Wolverines rallied in the second double to defeat the Dunkirk Marauders 3-2 in the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association’s West League men’s tennis on Tuesday.

Westfield (1-0, 1-0) swept the competition in doubles with the duo of Cody Hoffman and Tahner Stow beating Dunkirk’s Sebastian Degolier and Samuel Texidor 6-0, 6-3 in the first doubles. Collin Hoffman and Rachel Eggleston came back against Dunkirk’s Patton Green and Brennan Mead 3-6, 6-1 then 6-2 to win the match.

Westfield got their first run in the second singles as Mihir Patel beat Zander Begier 6-2, 6-0.

Ryan Willis of Dunkirk (0-1, 0-1) beat Andrew Nellis 6-0, 6-0 in the first singles and Shaun Vetter held off Micah Heim 7-5, 6-4 in the third singles.
